AUTUMN NEWS AND VIEWS FROM THE PALAIS
For those of us who have children or grandchildren, the beginning of September is often a fraught one with course books to be bought, pencil cases to be filled and the time to learn who the children’s classmates are and whether they got the teachers they were really hoping for.
Mini removal vans are hired as the older children switch cities, move into new flatshares and learn how to master a microwave and laundromat. And once the new term routine kicks in, and the effects of the August break seem to have well and truly melted away it is the time for us to sit back and think about some self-care now that those around us are sorted and settled.
At Palais Amani, a new season is starting for us too, though different from years past. In our past autumn life at the Palais, we would be fine-tuning the rooming lists and activity timetables and enjoying meeting friends new and old as the luxury travel fair season gets Underdue to the increase in demand, we have multiplied the opportunities to come out of the storm and re-centre, resources. From drop-in yoga and detox breakfasts, half-day hammam pampering, to spiritual meditation and full board yoga retreats, this autumn and winter season at the Palais Amani are sprinkled with the love you need.way.
But this is not the past autumn life. We are now in the new normal, the world where all changes at the drop of a government evaluation of a world region, the world where people are more hesitant about travelling too far. Many have decided that if they do travel, they travel for longer, and for different reasons, and we have adapted to that.
All can Change:
Yes, it is difficult to plan when all can change at such short notice should a government evaluation make your holiday destination a risk zone. This is why we have adapted our cancellation policy to be as flexible as possible. We still have flexible and non-refundable rates, but non-refundable is also flexible, with vouchers being issued to use at a later date. So even paying upfront means you don’t lose out.
Travelling Further, Travelling Longer:
In the last year, we have noticed that the length of stay for those travelling has lengthened, as those that are travelling further and travelling for longer.
Concerns about climate change, questions about the value of time and the type of travel that is important have really been noticeable as a result of the pandemic that we continue to endure.
As a result more of our customers are extending their stays. Today a four or five-night stay at Palais Amani on a long-distance trip to Morocco is setting the trend as the new normal. And we are delighted! Being the number one experiential boutique hotel in Fez, a stay of this length is easily varied, with some guests even saying that five nights seems a bit on the short side. So do come and stay, stay for a long time, and really take the time to lift the lid on the Moroccan way of life!
A haven from the storm.
Wherever you live, and whatever the state of vaccinations or variants the entire world continues to go through a state of flux and worry that requires an enormous dose of self-care to remain balanced and positive.
In authentic Arab Andalusian style, the Palais Amani focuses inwards. Strong outside walls enclose an internal beauty of stunning craftsmanship, lush gardens and peaceful water. Where better to come and process what monumental changes are occurring, to spend time in self-care and introspection, to just simply be.
Due to the increase in demand, we have multiplied the opportunities to come out of the storm and re-centre, resources. From drop-in yoga and detox breakfasts, half-day hammam pampering, to spiritual meditation and full board yoga retreats, this autumn and winter season at the Palais Amani are sprinkled with the love you need.
